Additionally, Seagate Secure technology enables advanced security firmware that delivers comprehensive centralized security management, enabling government, health care, education, banking and financial institutions to meet consumer laws as well as state and federal legislation regarding identity theft protection. No other hardware-based solution delivers government-grade encryption integrated with centralized enterprise management capability.

Seagate Momentus 5400 FDE drives can be deployed in two ways—standalone system-managed security via BIOS setup, or integrated as a corporate security solution centrally managed by the IT department. This is an enterprise secure model that can be integrated as a centrally managed solution.

This solution is designed for businesses and institutions that wish to manage self-encrypting drive security from a centralized perspective. These organizations must meet state and federal laws designed to protect consumers from data breaches. Advanced secure firmware enables secure disposal and repurposing of drives and, with third-party centralized management software combined with government grade encryption, the solution delivers pre-boot authentication in the form of biometrics, passwords or smart cards. Additionally, IT departments can escrow passwords and easily perform security audits on company laptops.
